Built to fit seamlessly into the Nike ACG ecosystem, this project translates the brand's signature blend of outdoor function and bold aesthetics into a high-performance snow helmet
the challenge
Most ski helmets have bulbous forms with vent designs that feel like afterthoughts. This project combats visual monotony by balancing distance and proximity: a well-proportioned silhouette from far away paired with beautiful surface textures that create a sharp, visceral reaction up close
Inspiration
Guided by Nike ACG’s bold and expressive yet natural design language, the helmet takes inspiration from natural forms such as topography and black slate.
CAD was heavily involved in the ideation phase, where sketches were made on top of preliminary CAD surfaces to integrate the vents into a natural space on the helmet
Concept Renders
True to Nike ACG’s design language, the asymmetrical topographic pattern is designed for proximity. From far away, the helmet looks clean and restrained, but up close the topo linework emerges, turning the helmet into a beautiful and wild piece of gear
